Dear Mr. Potts,

Thanks for the recent email telling the story of Scout! As a small business owner I can’t imagine the emotions that you must have gone thru. I am pretty sure that most people would have quit after the hurricane, and definitely 99.9% would have quit after the snow storm. That sir is grit, the never give up attitude that has made this country great. I try to teach this to my employees, but I don’t think it can be taught. I am sure you can walk thru you plant and tell the employees who either have it or not. For me, I found a really easy way to tell, look at the cars that are either at work first or last.

I actually got the opportunity to meet you at the Rendezvous in 2023. My boat was the rascal blue 42 that you all came in next to at the sandbar. Previously our family had owned 18 Sea Rays, and I was always so impressed with their quality and customer support. Especially back when you could call the factory and actually talk to someone that understood your boat, and how to fix something. Unfortunately as Sea Rays grew larger, that was not an option. I am so impressed that Scout had that level of customer service! Upon purchasing my 42 I had some questions, and was able to contact Zane Henderson. Super knowledgeable about my exact boat and so professional! That is world class customer support! Your speech at the Rendezvous that year was awesome, your passion for your company and your product was heard by all. It actually inspired me to look at my own business and ignited a grit in myself, so thank you!
